SURI are a cult stoner rock band from Jakarta, Indonesia that formed in 2008. Suri have a distinct yet traditional doom rock sound that incorporates stoner and sludge traits, with lyrics typically involving the life, horror films and cannabis. SURI still combines the slow tempos, heavy rhythms and dark, pessimistic atmosphere of doom rock with the aggression, shouted vocals and occasional fast tempos Psychedelic and Blues.

But they also incorporate elements variously drawn from other sources, including psychedelic rock, punk, noise, minimalism, pure sludge-drone music à la Earth, and more.

Also, despite the unpretentious psychedelic/stoner rock imagery that accompanies much of their work, there is an ambitiously experimental aspect to much of it.

Indonesian cult favorite sludge/doom/stoner rock SURI takes their name from a holocaust death syndrome.

Name taken from indonesian decent language means "dying" and it represent their experience in musical world. They tried so hard to rectify their point of view of making music in a common way, lyric, tunes and theme. Their proclaim that "We Were gnashing our teeth but Were Dying."
